Honyaku Plus is currently accepting applications for short- and long-term paid internships at our Tokyo office. Successful candidates will provide administrative support to executives in one or more of the following areas: translation project management, finance, accounting and marketing.

Conditions

• Compensation: ¥1000 yen per hour plus travel expenses

• Location: Kanda-Jimbocho, Chiyoda-ku

• Hours: 10:00 to 17:00, two or three days a week (but negotiable)

• Duration: one month minimum, but longer-term arrangements preferable

Desired skills

• Native-level Japanese, conversational English

• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel

Project manager needed

Honyaku Plus is currently looking for a full-time in-house project manager. The project manager will work closely with in-house and freelance translators in order to ensure a smooth workflow and maximal customer satisfaction. He or she will organize projects from the initial customer contact right up until the delivery of the final translation.

Candidate requirements

• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Working proficiency in both English and Japanese (and native-level fluency in one or the other)

• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Windows

• Ability to work under stress and with tight deadlines

Japanese-to-English translator needed

Honyaku Plus is currently looking for a Japanese-to-English translator to work full-time in-house at our Jimbocho office. Materials to be translated span a wide range of topics and include documentation for IT products, IT-related market reports and press releases, and academic papers on international relations. All candidates will be asked to take a two-hour timed trial from home. Candidates who are successful in this trial will then be offered an interview.

Candidate requirements

• Native-level English

• Excellent writing skills

• Strong proficiency in reading Japanese

• Commute of 45 minutes or less to Jimbocho station

• Ability to work as part of a team

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Windows

• Ability to work under tight deadlines
